In its early years, Apex Computer Systems was primarily a provider of accounting software solutions to small and medium-sized business clients in Southern California. Soon, Dr. Chen's vision for Apex grew into one of providing complete technology services to companies of all sizes. In 1993, the Field Service Group was formed to provide field support and equipment maintenance services to enterprise level clients. Not long after in 1995, Apex became the first mentored Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) under the Rebuild LA effort following the 1992 LA riots opening many doors and opportunities for Apex. In 1998, the Network Solutions Group was formed to provide network management and infrastructure solutions, thus fulfilling Dr. Chen's complete technology solutions strategy. Today, these three operational units have evolved into a seamless offering of field and professional services serving the needs of small, medium, and enterprise level clients.
Throughout the years, Apex has consistently demonstrated quality, commitment, creativity, and excellence, inspired by its "One Operation/Zero Defect" customer service philosophy. In recent years, Apex has consistently been named a top-performing business partner by IBM, Microsoft, and Sage Software. In 2004, Apex was selected to be showcased on Terry Bradshaw's "Pick Of The Week," a weekly national television program that showcases the best and the brightest small companies that are making a difference in America's economy today.
In addition, Apex is deeply dedicated to educating and assisting the small business community in Southern California through support and involvement in various community business organizations and hosting monthly free seminars and special events in Southern and Northern California, espcially within the Asian community. Since 2002, Apex has partnered with IBM as founder and co-host of the Chinese-American Executive Forum in Southern California, a half-day executive forum attended annually by over 100 CEOs and executives from Chinese and Asian-owned businesses in the area. In 2005, Apex partnered with Microsoft to host the first Asian-American Business Solutions Conference, a multi-session conference for business executives and CPAs showcasing Microsoft solutions for small and medium business. Most recently, Apex hosted a successful Microsoft seminar series "Achieving Effective Inventory Management" for distribution businesses in both Southern and Northern California.
